About Us

Welcome to the
23rd International Symposium on Infections in the Critically Ill Patient

The aim of this two-day symposium is to review current concepts, technology and present advances in infections in critically ill patients.
Sepsis, Pulmonary Infections, Basic Research, Pulmonary Infections Treatmentand Prophylaxis Therapy of severe infections will be the topics of the main sessions presented by experts who will review and update the new advances on infections in the critically ill patient. At the end of each session a Clinical Controversy, Pannel Discussion or Case Report Discussion will be organized.

Rules governing
submission of abstracts

The submission of abstracts for the 23rd International Symposium on
Infections in the Critically Ill Patient implies acceptance of the
following rules:


Abstracts must be submitted via e-mail to the address


All communications should be written in English.


The deadline for the submission or correction of abstracts is on Monday, 30th November, 2017


It is mandatory that the Abstract presenter is registered
to attend the Symposium for the final acceptation of abstracts


Abstracts will be anonymously evaluated by the
Scientific Committee


Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters.


The deadline for the communication of acceptance is Monday,
15th December 2017


All the accepted abstracts will be published.

Rules governing
submission of abstracts

Please follow the steps indicated on the website.




Summaries should be no longer than 5.000 characters and will
include: a brief introduction, objectives, method, results and
conclusions. You may include one or two tables or figures which it
considers relevant.


The title should be written in capital letters and no longer than
20 words


Authors: It must include the author and coauthors, name, surname
and hospital. The first author will be the contact person with the
Technical Secretariat


It is allowed the same authors in multiple abstracts.
